FRSC, Anambra, Delta partner to ease traffic

The  Federal Road Safety  Commission on Wednesday said it would collaborate with the governors of Anambra and Delta States on measures to ease traffic on the Niger bridge during the yuletide.
Corps Marshal of the commission, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, made this known during a meeting with the governors of the two states, according to a statement signed by Head Media Relations and Strategy of the FRSC, Mr Bisi Kazeem.
Oyeyemi said plans were underway to curb the perennial traffic challenges along the Benin-Asaba and Onitsha-Awka corridors.
He said the Benin–Asaba and Onitsha–Awka corridors were two critical corridors of the nations’ highways with a total stretch of about 173km. it is one of the major highways linking the eastern part of the country to the other states.
Oyeyemi also added that the corridors experience considerable volume of traffic in varying diversity.
